Default Theft in Omaha NE?

Just moved to Omaha today. My car will be outside for a few days, for the first time since I've owned it =P. Is anyone familiar with the area?

Agreed. I would find a way to get it inside somewhere at any cost.

pull the engine, put the car on blocks, dig a moat and put alligators in the moat.

seems like that's about what it takes anymore

If you are really that worried, get a boot and put it on there, that generally stops thefts. Or you could just take out the battery, they wouldn't get very far without that.

I parked mine outside in Omaha before. Just be smart. Dont show it off or get in the gay street racing scene. A garage is the best bet, but we can't have everything we want.

No battery=no alarm. Not hard to bring a battery with you.

Put it in the back yard! Don't drive it till you can put it in the garage. You don't want anyone following you home. Just do what you can to get it in the garage if you are worried.

Hahah, well breaking the window makes noise, but popping the locks doesn't... Do what that guy in South Africa did, and make a car alarm that if you stand to close to it shoots flames out the sides of the, pretty sure that would deter theft.

Alright slow down now, we're taking this too far. I would never advocate the use of a BMW

iheartintegras, my tax return ended up being the asking price for your R; I tossed around the idea of getting it but it's not feesable with a 1 car garage (98 has the spot). It's definitely one of the cleanest R's out right now and I would love to have my hands on it, so definitely keep her safe bro.

Rent a uhual storage. They are the same size as a one car garage. I looked at those when I thought my car would have to be outside for a couple of weeks during moving. It's cheap and definetly worth it

Are you refering to a regular storage unit or do they make something I haven't seen around where I live?

I'd probably just rent a regular storage unit for one month. They are fairly cheap. Just make sure no one follows you to the complex.
