i ordered these off of ebay as oem replacements. $52.00 shipped, i got them today and i was kind of disappointed. the casting on where the hub would go looks rough as hell. should i be ok? should i bother to smooth out that area?
it's a casting, it's going to be rough.
I don't see how anything will be affect. Those are there for the bearing flange to pass through. The face where the hub mounts looks fine.

I shopped for a set of rotors on ebay but everything I read about them was negative for the most part as far as their quality, the fact they are thinner than most other mainstream brands etc...
I ended up buying all 4 rotors and sets of pads for 280 from TAS.

Unfortunately, it's pretty common to see rough casting surfaces like that on extremely cheap Chinese-sourced rotors. Those rough edges aren't going to hurt anything, but the rotor may have other issues. All you can do is try them out.

the whole taking apart of the hub over rotor assembly was a pain in the dick. why would honda do this to us?

sad to say but in the end you generally gt what you pay for..
I ordered a pair of brembo sport slotted rotors this summer and I was stunned at the finish and the craftsmanship.. every surface was perfectly smoothed and machined..
it pays to look around sometimes, if you manage to catch something on sale you can get some good deals on well respected brands
for brakes I usually browse the selection on tirerack.com and buybrakes.com then buy it whereever is cheapest (including ebay)

I was told that Brembo recently started seb-letting their rotor manufacturing to other companies around the globe, rather than fabbing them all in-house. Based on the number of rotor warranty returns I've had as of late, I think the quality has suffered.
It's hard to find quality automotive replacement parts these days.

Targa, I'm actually surprised to hear that because my Sport slotted's were manufactured in Italy and the quality seemed second to none...
Of course, it is possible that this was pre- sub--letting?
Have you heard of subletting on the sport line of rotors as well or just the "blanks"?

For $280 I did the 4 rotor and brake pad set from TASauto.
"90-97 4cyl FT & RR CROSS-DRILLED BRAKE PACKAGE (NISSIN & AKEBONO)
Kit includes front and rear cross-drilled rotors, Semi-metallic front brake pads and Carbomet rear pads. Package gives less brake fade and greater stopping power. Carbomet brake pads are made from a semi-metallic, carbon fiber composite. Carbon fiber is more resistant to heat so you can expect less brake fade under hard braking conditions, increased stopping power and low dust levels. Bolt-on, no modifications needed."
They are OEM plus for both the rotors and the pads which is a plus and they'll give you more performance and stopping power apparently.

Really was that necessary?
How about you read the Accord FAQ, don't make 3 pointless posts in a year old thread that has nothing to do with your question.
There is a tutorial in the FAQ, in fact it's the first one listed.
