Default 94 ls-v roaming idle

first of all i HAVE SEARCHED but couldnt find anything.

i've just replaced my head gasket, fired up the car and it started first try. but the weird thing is that it would be at like 1300rpm as soon as it starts, then gradually settles at about 1000rpm. after a few minutes, it will drop to about 800rpm then to like 300rpm. once it drops off to 300rpm, it fluctuates from there to like 800rpm.

i KNOW i do not have a vacuum leak, no CEL's, IACV is perfectly fine since it was idling at about 1100rpm BEFORE i did the head gasket.

the only thing i can think of is maybe the dizzy? as of right now i have it tilted ALL the way towards the firewall.

do you have bubbles in your coolant?

let the car cool off, open the rad cap, start the car, add a bit more coolant till you have a ncie flow in the rad hole. When the car warms up and the coolant will starting to rise close the cap.

You should get rid of the bubbles, but it might put to much coolant in there as well. It will ealk out from your cap, smell a bit but then you shoudl be just fine.

If thats your problem. But it seems to me when the bubble flows through IACV its making it go up and down sorta thing.

Sounds like air in the system...or even just a dirty IACV but yeah, Id just try the coolant bleed first.

MAP sensor would also do this. Not sure how it would have changed, and it should throw a CEL if something was bad, but its worth checking

i SOMETIMES have a CEL, it has come on twice since i've done the head gasket. both times it comes on when im just driving normally, then i'll turn off the car, turn it on, and no more CEL.

so yea im confused.
