How to check radio ground?
So I have this whistling sound coming from the front of my car and the mechanic said to check the ground for my radio. I am a complete noob when it comes to wiring and such and was wondering how to check this? I have an 00 si with alpine HU, alpine speakers, and kenwood amp. Thanks
probably that kenwood amp has a bad ground if its on your highs
usually factory radio grounds are good and tested, the whistling sound is engine whine playing through your speakers i am assuming.

ummm first check the amps gain control....it may be up too high as to
cause it to allow alternator whine to be heard(above the cars normal noise floor)
turn it down and see if that corrects the issue.

could be a bad ground in the amp which can also burn up the ground in the head unit also through the rca's. you can also try taking a piece of wire from the ground terminal to the rca input of the amp (ground side) and see if the noise goes away. Then tou will know it is the amp.
