fastest spooling t4 turbo
like the title says I am starting my new build.
I have a full race t4 ram manifold and am curious what T4 turbo will spool the fastest with a 1.8 block only reving to 8000rpm
and this car will still be street driven
thanx in advance

but what kinda hp numbers? With a smaller a/r exhaust side it could be an almost instant spool but will die out top end. We need some idea how you would like your powerband & hp goals
That's a really vague question. I could make up a turbo that would spool super quick but fall on its face real quick as well. What kind of power are you looking for? That's going to help narrow your choices down.

i would go t3 at that point. until you posted your power goals, spool shouldnt have been an issue.
but if thats all the power you want, i think the t4 may be a little overkill for you especially reving that high.

lol, once i seen the goal. deff no T4. u wont see spool till u shift light comes on.
35r deff your best bet. & thier will still be some room to go up.

if you already have the manifold and are set on using it the T4 SC61 with the smallest backhousing you can get may be a good choice
the SC61 is a great all around turbo for the money imo -- can make 400 all day long with a good powerband and then can push up to 650 or so once you decide you want more.
(GT35r t4 is a good choice too, just a bit higher priced)

nothing wrong with t4 you t3 nuthangers. its more about the ar on the turbine! im running a bonestock b16a top mount t4 63 ar turbine housing 60-1 garrett and on 16 pounds. it gets full boost bye 5500 and runs 11.8 at 119 in my full interior eg. look at my signature!
p.s. t4 sc61 is a hella of a turbo too.

I think we should stop using the word "spool" and start using the term "positive boost pressure" all turbos "spool" differently on different cars and motors and such.
full boost doesnt mean a whole lot either because there are so many different peoples "full boost" 8,10,15,30
I saw over 30psi by 5100 on my 372 and even more on my 366
look into the t4 S366

I dont think so, faster boost response than my 35R plot after plot the 366 hands down killed my 35R.
I had an issue with wastegate reference and actually saw 50-55psi spike on the 366 hondata 5 bar didnt incorporate boost cut on the s200 then so i kinda shot myself in the foot, killed the headgasket but that was it.
as stated above, it has alot to do with the turbine wheel, and we have made some good progress over the last 2 years or so with different turbo companie, one being bullseye power who changed the way we sorta thing about turbos and the aspect of math used with them.
15psi on my car netted about 480 on pumpgas timing numbers
mine made about 740 on 30psi from the 366
