So i'm thinking about having my dad do a basecoat/clearcoat paint job on my car. i've decided i like and intend on keeping the factory r63 rio red color. the question i have for you guys is what do you think about putting some pearl into the paint and/or the clearcoat? my dad just finished painting my sisters car *gasp* bubblegum pink lol, and it looks really nice with the pearl in it. i mean about as nice as a pink car can look that is lol.

i've seen lots of rio red painted hatches and rexs, but i dont recall ever seeing one done with pearl. thoughts? i tried searching through google but couldnt find squat. if anyone happened to have a picture of this particular color with pearl in it that would be excellent lol.

 

Honestly best thing to do find out what color you want, and have him spray some scrap pieces of metal, with clear coat.
Make sure you sand, prime, sand, lay bascoat, then clear, then buff it, then look at it

In the sun,
In the dark,
In the shade,
Under florescent light.


Then pick your color!

 

yea that would definitely work, and it will end up being what i do most likely. my dads still got pearl left over so i guess doing a test piece would be the easiest most logical thing to do i'm still game for any pics though if someone happens to have any lol.
