Default D16Z6 Block+ D16Y7 Head= Disaster Timing???

i know its a silly question but... a friend did this combo when trying to build a vitara piston based "Boost Setup". however upon completion... his timing just wouldnt get on point. it would run and seem to lose the timing halfway down a block...so thats why im asking... will the d16y7 head throw off the z6 block or what. Thanks For Dem Feedbacks Mayne.

maybe timing belt wasnt tensioned poperly? if he had vitaras in a boosted motor it sounds like he knows alot about what hes doing though.. you may have to get an adjustable cam gear to compensate fo head height. im not sure though. the block should except the head with no problems.

but why the y7 head on a z6 block? im just wondering what the benifits would be? higher/lower compression than stock z6?

but good luck man!
