Default Downhill/Mountain Time Attacks?

I've noticed theres no post about Mountain Passes..
I was wondering if anyone here has any experience in this.
It's something I'd really like to get into they use to have single car hill climbs at Chimney Rock,NC named "King Of The Hill" when I was little and it's something I'll never forget and something I'd love to get into.

heres a little history of the event

There are a few in Oregon, some have good run off, so if you mess up you have a chance of not hurting the car with other climbs its straight down......
