Default DIY Accord Black Headlights (EU) model

hey guys/girls,

i made my own accord black headlights

i took some pictures and writing a HOW TO

so stay tuned please let me know if intrested,

ow and by the way it's a EU model so don't know if it's excatly the same as U.S you'll find out soon

okay let's start :

First take the fornt bumper off (don't have to explain how en why i guess)

then take out the headlights.

if you look at the back of the lights you see 3 screws EU model (don't know if the same)

unscrew and keep them safe. (on the pic. the are already out)

then take out you're paintstripper gun (don't know how it's called in U.S)
heater gun/hairdryer only it get's a little warmer then that

you got to be careful now ! those clips al around can melt !

first you've got to heat up the whole lamp from behind not on the glass/pvc
then a little more on the inner (small corner) that lines up with the hood/grill

carefully lift up those pvc lips on the edge and start pulling gently.

maybe the first bit you have to do carefully with a screwdriver !

then when you have the first corner loose stay heating up the whole lamp
not to long on one spot,i dit it all by my self but maybe an extra set of hands makes it all a little easier......just a tip

and so work you're way around till the hole unit comes apart (DONT FORGET THE SCREWS !!!!

when it's all apart like this

you can easily take out the inner chrome edge.

now come's the painting/spraying part.

first off take a scotch brite and be sure the hit all the edges and angles.

I hope a scotch brite here is the same as there with you guys
(actually sanding paper but then a sponge)
hope you know what i mean.

then take out you're spraying can's (i used matt black)

spray it in a couple a times not all in once then you get
some how do you say it ? drops/tears and thats fuc** Up

and eventually it looks like this

then put the chrome/black/red whatever color
back in the pvc/glass.

now comes the tricky part....

i used a 2component base glue (i work in a car body shop so i have evrything by hand)

i guess you can use any kind of sealing/glue stuff don't know all the names in
u.s. you can figure that out for yourself...

take the headlight and glue the complete edge (not to much or it will come out)

put you're pvc/glass back on top of the headlight push down the clips
put you're 3 screws back in all before it dry's out !!!!!
hold it together and you're done !!!!!

and voila black headlights.

and let me know what you think about it..

not feeling the all black corners, but.......
if the inside of your corners were amber w/ the black housing, pure sex.
