when you blow your motor an its covered under warrenty what do they do with the old blown motor
as the title say if your motor is replaced for some reason what do they do with the old motor can you ask to keep it
If the motor died due to a defect in materials or original assembly then Honda/Acura should warranty it. If it was destroyed due to your own negligence/mistake/etc then hell no they wont (and should not) warranty it. Any items replaced by warranty are sent to the manufacturer.

If you get your motor replaced under warranty then Honda sends the dealership a new one. The dealership then send the bad motor to them. They have mechanics that go over the motor. If its determined that engine failure was due to neglect on the owners part (IE: Over revving or shooting NOS thru it) they send the bad motor back to the dealership and make the service department eat the cost. Then it stays there until someone (Usually a mechanic ) buys it for next to nothing.
as far as my experince goes 3+ years...if it's a large warrenty job...esp in a b-series car a district manager comes out to look at the damage.. yay or nay it's up to this man. usualy in this situation the part do not go back to honda they are kept for 45 days then tossed...b-series part are scoffed up by the mechanics or parts guys. they only send parts back to techline if it's a unique failure.
I didn't even bother taking my chit tothe dealer after my problems. Just called Dave and D to come over for
and they fixed it
and they fixed it
