Default Rear power window won't go up

Hey Guys, I've searched, didn't get much results...

I got a 96 Civic LX 4 door, and the passenger rear window went down, but it won't go up. I stopped it midway and tried to put it up, but it didn't go, and when I pushed down it went down.

The switch at the driver's side controls will not make it go down or up. (It did a week before though)

The switch at the actual passenger side rear door will make it go down, but not up. It is all the way down now, but it will not go up. I can hear the motor trying to make it go down when I hit down, but not up.

Thoughts? I only have a Chilton's, and it is not very detailed at all.

I'm assuming its only 1 motor that makes it go up and down.

The wiring all looks ok, although I haven't pulled the unit out.

Well, since no one could help me, in case someone has a similar problem and needs to get the window up, do the following.

1. Try cleaning out the contacts for the switch. If that is unsuccessful, then:
2. Pull the other door panel and try that switch. If that is also unsuccessful, then:
3. You can try alcohol. Some people claim it worked, but I didn't try it. I didn't have any, and I'm not sure I feel good about dumping alcohol down the switch harness and all.
4. As a temporary measure, as long as the switch works for the window going down, if you follow the harness theres 2 wires that come off of it to the motor. Cut the wires and reverse them, and then down is up and up is down. Since I know the motor works, I just switched the way the signal is sent and when I hit down the window went up.

This works good as a temporary solution till you get a new switch / harness.

It's pretty common for '96-00 Civics to have odd power window problems caused by broken wires in the left front door wiring harness, since all of the power windows are routed through the main switch. Test the wiring.
