Default Bad Oxygen Sensor Advice Wanted.

I own a 2001 Civic HX that is giving me an OBD code of P0141, which seems to be a O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2).

What I would like advice on is...

The Civic HX has 3 O2 sensors and 2 catalytic converters. One sensor before the first cat, one after and number three behind the second cat. So is "bank 1" the set of the first two O2 sensors and "Sensor 2" the one after the first cat? And once I find the sensor, should I just replace it, or test it in the car or out?

The strange thing too is that my engine light was off before I changed my clutch, then was on the first time I started the car after changing the clutch. The car also does not seem to perform any worse or have worse fuel efficiency.

Sorry for the potentially perplexing post but this is the first time I've dealt with troubleshooting O2 sensors.

Thanks a lot,
Scott

and a fun text diagram
[Engine]-(deadly gasses)>--~O2~{Catalytic1}~O2~-----{Catalytic2}~O2~-----(less deadly gasses)--o>

make sure the wires are connected. replug them just in case

if its a bad sensor, I would replace that sensor asap, i had an issue where mine got damaged over rough snow, I took my time replacing it, over a month, not only did I get horrible gas mileage, in that one month my cat burned out because I was running too rich.

I've tried un-plugging and re-plugging-in all three of my O2 sensors with no luck.

I'm all for replacing it, but I am not positive which sensor it is. Since I have 3 O2 sensors and it says its "Bank 1, Sensor 2" is that the middle sensor of the three?

I certainly don't want to burn out either of my cats :\

if you have 3 then number 2 is the middle one 1 would be the primary or the first on line and closest to the exhaust ports on the head and the third would be farthest away on the exhaust system towards the back of the car.

a bad o2 sensor wont cause your cat's to burn out if the o2 sensor goes bad it basically goes into closed loop and your car will run fine
