Default is tranny fork suppose to be loose?

on my 99 civic ex, just today i was driving and shifting fine and all of a sudden i couldn't shift into gear any more. so i had too turn off car. but when i turned off car, i could easily shift to any gear smoothly...... i had too drive in 2nd gear all the way home.... so i decided to bleed the system. all of a sudden it started leaking at the slave. i took it apart thought it was a bad slave but it wasn't. so i was going to replace it, but that wasn't the problem. i decided to take a 2nd look, my fork was really loose and had alot of play. just wondering what had cause this problem.

everything is stock never replace anything.

does anybody knows why mine would be so loose. could there be a chance that the throw out bearing went out, and disconnected by the fork...or bearing was stuck somewhere in the pressure plate.....please let me know so i know its not my tranny

the tranny never had problems, never had grinds, and only 135,000 miles.
