I got to participate in a track rental today at my local track. We drove the car out there, made a few tweaks to the launch RPM, and made 4 passes. 2 passes were aborted since we were unsure about the tech guys allowing us to run. The two full passes were 10.5 and 10.4 - both at 140 MPH. All of my runs were on the same street tires that I drove to the track on and have been driving on all summer.

We had a few minor clutch throw adjustment issues which didn't allow us to take advantage of the great track conditions, however, I was still able to manage a personal best. Both full passes surpassed my current best. I can't wait to see what the car can do once we get the clutch throw dialed in and a full launch out of the car. 1.81 was the best 60' of the day.

I'd really like to give a huge thanks to Devin at AEM for all his support...without him and AEM, the car wouldn't be what it is. This is truly a full fledged street car with every amenity that Honda offers (including my soft top still retracted and sitting under my hard top...haha)

Carey do you think a 9.9 is possible on the street tires? Because that would just be awesome if you could get that to happen!

BTW how's the Subaru?

 

That's a personal goal of mine, definitely. I really think that the car could cut a 1.6 on these tires, and a bit more boost, I think it's very doable.

I could always take the easier way out, put race gas in it, and slicks, but I'm stubborn.

The Subaru is still on temporary hold until business picks back up.

Thanks man. You cut a 1.5x on the drag radials, or bias ply? That's awesome if it was on a radial. If I can cut a 1.5, that's a 9 second pass without changing anything else.

 

I'll dig the slip up but that was before I swapped to the bias ply. It def can be done.
