installing rsx bose sub in my es2
ok i have it working but when i raise the volume the bass fades out some, im wondering if anyone else has done this and what needs to be done, to see if i did it right. thanks
Install information, ie a rough wiring schematic, or pictures. I take it there is a factory amplifier powering it? Would like to see the set up in your Civic.
ok well its up and working, its a nice clean sound to it nothing major...
there are 4 cable on the plug that goes into the woofer.. in my case
white = +
black = -
green white stripe = + input
green = - input
i ran a positive from a switched source
negative to the body..
and for the input i ran and rca and plugged one end into the sub out of in my case SONY radio.
the other end i cut the end off and splice the two inner cable to the input on the plug for the amp.. the rca has the male part which is positive and the outer is negative..
saying that now i can turn the bass on and off as i please with the subwoofer output on my radio hope some one else will do this.. if you need pictures ill try to get some.

i have the same sub
note the amp does not have a remote turn on input...i rigged up a relay to turn the amp on/off with the remote output from my deck...
as for the bass fading out, the bose amp might have a compressor circuit that attenuates the sub if the output starts to clip...

btw, does your sub make a thumping noise every time you change tracks? it happens when i'm playing a cd but not when the hu is using the ipod...
i have a feeling the bose amp input is a differential input...

i dont know why you'd want this... i have it in my rsx-s and it doesn't make much of a different, i can't really notice it's there...
believe it or not it did make a noticeable difference, i just hated the blan music with no low end notes, this gives just enough.
i'm feeding it with the subwoofer rca output from my deck...
it sounds like a spare tire sub...it sounds good at lower volumes but it runs out of power pretty quickly
i use it only when i have to take my big sub out of the trunk

oh btw...the center bore of the civic spare tire is a tiny bit smaller than the rsx one. to fit the bose sub into a civic, you have to shave a tiny bit of the plastic that goes into the center of the spare tire...
