Here is something you don't see every day
I am pretty sure I remember spoon selling these back in the day (they were rare because they didn't have serial #'s since spoon got them directly from Honda)

They still sell them. What I wouldn't give to put a 1.8l spoon crate motor with all the other Spoon bling in a crx...

yah for 6500, i agree
2900 shipped for a longblock isn't that bad, esp cause it comes with an ECU. Fairly decent deal.

The motor on the bay could be a spoon motor. the seller admits it "could" be as it does not have a serial.
here is a pic of a real spoon motor. They do not have serials on the block, it simply says B18C.
How do I know? this is my spoon motor still sitting in the crate. maybe I will install it some day. It has been aging since 2002.

To be honest, that is a good question. Maybe I am lazy. maybe in the back of my mind I like the fact that if I have a catastrophic failure, I have a brand new motor I can install. Maybe I am an Idiot.
Take your pick.
But it is really fun to look at once a month. It really is shiny.
the people selling it are awesome to work with they are close to me (albany,ny) like a hour and a half away. i bought a ton of type r parts form them. last time i was there they had 5 type r swaps in there warehouse
sorry but for that 6,370 that Inline Four charges for a Spoon crate motor, it is much more cost effective to rebuild a stock motor with top notch parts, slap on a turbo with a good tune, and make serious power instead of having, what i consider, a little beefed up almost stock b18c that happens to be balanced by spoon...
You pay for the name, and in some cases, it is not worth it...
its like k swapped cars, why spend about 8k for a K20 and still get the doors blown off by a built gsr swapped civic.
Its a very good, and brand new looking motor, and for those Spoon ******, this is the cream of the crop...just not for me. I just cant justify it.
btw...it is really shiny tho lol

LOL... I love the "spoon balanced" comments in this thread.
All spoon does is buy masses of STOCK PISTONS and then matches up the closest weight sets. All they are is matches STOCK PISTON sets... that's it. And spending all that money for it? Retarded if you ask me.

Spending $6730 on a Spoon block...............
