Make Model year of car in question would be a pretty good start. You will need to pull the diagnostic Trouble Codes from the ECU in your car to know exactly what the CEL is on for. Someone could help you retrieve those codes as soon as we know what year your car is.

Also a description of any sort of problem you may be encountering since the CEL came on would be beneficial. The CEL is on. Do you see, feel or hear any sort of difference in the performance/operation of your car?

A defective defrost system won't cause the CEL to come on. The O2 is probably a good guess. Retrieving the actual CEL code would give you a definite answer.

At this point, I'd have to admit i don't know as well.
But you are talking apples/oranges here. Two separate and unrelated problems.

Rear Defogger. Check ALL your fuses, not only the group located in the passanger compartment, but the engine compartment as well.

For the CEL, it's best you pull the code and get back to us.
I believe both Deathzone and Advanced Autoparts stores will scan your car for free (they want to sell you stuff); and with that info we can continue

If you have an OBD1 car, search for how to jump the thing on the forums, and get back with the code. If it's an OBD2 car, I think Retard Zone has free scanning.
