Default fitv routing question

can i just use a plate on the back side of the fitv and plug the hose on the other side to feed it from the intake manifold?

or

do i need to actually hook up both sides to the intake manifold?

stock fitv from the 91 si civic on an aftermarket throttle body and aftermarket intake manifold.
the throttle body and the intake manifold does not have an fitv attachment.

a 91 civic si would not have a fitv to begin with.. just an iacv.

regardless, you dont need a fitv and you can bypass it by simply running your coolant line right from the intake manifold area over to the iacv.

well you may very well have a fitv, but that does not mean these cars came with them stock. that didn't happen until 92+

if you have a d16a6 then that engine like i said never had a fitv to begin with, so you don't need it. it will idle the way its designed to without it.

I would route a hose and create a "closed loop". its really straight forward.

so the fitv would still work with just the hose side hooked up and the back of the fitv blocked off?!?

just making sure i understand.

If you want it to work hook it up completely.

If you don't want it to work, make a block off plate and run coolant lines as if it wasn't there.

there is no coolant to the fitv. its electronic with two places for air to go in and out of from the intake manifold.
