Default Fully built on type R engine or CR VTEC

I have a dc2 w/ b18c5 and want to build it to the max power, like abt 250 whp. My question may sound silly but I still did like to ask just incase if I am missing anything.

My question is should I get a b20 block and build it fully and use my type R head , OR since I have a b18c5 installed, build that engine to 2.0 and it ll make about the same power as building b20 V ?

Reasons for asking its because I love the torque from b20V that i had before from other dc chasis that i sold it in couple years ago. Im assuming that if i get my current b18c5 fully built it ll be the same " feeling " , same power as b20 V ?
if Yes then , I should not waste my money getting a b20 block.
look forward your feedbacks, experienced, etc. thanks

stick with the type-r block and maybe, maybe punch it out to 2.0. the factory block is a great piece of work. i dont understand why you cant just stick with that and build the head up to handle better cams. to get 250whp you need to do some extensive building of that type-r engine. which would seem like a waste of purchasing a type-r engine. dont waste your money on the b20 block. the parts and R&D that the b18c5 has over the b20 is undeniably much greater. so you dont think you would be satisfied with a 220whp engine?

go with the b20/vtec set-up always remember theres no replacement for displacement..to get 250hp on a 1.8 motor is a little harder than on a 2.0..

true, im sure he wont have a hard time finding someone to buy the c5 block if he decides to sell it. why not go with the h22 though if we're talkin displacement?

IMHO, the type R rotating assembly is the best of all the b series motors. If you sleeve and bore the block, you are looking at 1.933 L vs 1.973 L for a B20 block. Not much of a difference.

I would only go with a B20 if money is a significant issue (you can sell the R short block for more than a B20 or B18 costs) or if you want to build the short block while the other motor is still in your car, so that the down time is minimal.

Hint -> if you want to make a lot of power, focus on the cylinder head.
