Default Working on a Honda....

Has anyone besides me noticed that our belts are a ROYAL PITA to change / adjust. For example... the A/C belt on my 95 GS-R is insane. WHY couldn't Honda sit down and think about it for 2 extra days and design a system so that it is EASY to adjust / replace? I had an 89 Nissan Maxima (Keep in mind a V6 FWD car) and I could change the timing belt in about the same amount of time as it takes to change the regular drive belts on this Integra. Don't get me wrong, I love my GS-R... but why did they HAVE to make something that should be very simple and EASY so difficult?

Oh, and don't get me started on the engine mounts... ESPECIALLY THE LIP ON THE FRAME RAIL. (Would be SO much more straight forward if the lip wasn't there....)

agreed.

It's another reason my next car will have it's engine mounted the correct way. Front to back, rear wheel drive.

Yeah, I think it's about 72 offically (depending on year), but they are counting ALL intake hoses / connectors etc. I think normal "vacuum lines" are around 60+. The 2nd gen N/A are actually not that bad to work on. For the most part even my TII isn't too bad. The worest thing on my car is the stupid coolant hose that runs under the intake manifold.

Maxima also has it down side.
Engine coolant drain bolt/ fuel filter, you have to have inspector gadget arm to get to.

a lot of nissans also have inaccurate dipsticks or ones that are impossible to read. i find hondas pretty easy to work on for basic things compared to whatelse is out there.

I dunno I had the VG30E motor... and the fuel filter couldn't have been easier to get to. Never used the block drain on the coolant.

I'm sure not all Nissan's are easy, but I thought that my VG30E was VERY easy to work on compared to my Integra. I've changed belts on other cars and this was the hardest to change. RX-7 is easier, my old maxima was easier, 97 Pontiac GTP MUCH easier...
