I hope it is not on the ECU module. This would be a pain. Can I remove the ECU for troubleshooting without having to get it reprogrammed or reset?

AC clutch won't engage and it is the ECU ground to the clutch relay.

I'm thinking of wiring up a new ground line with toggle switch for my AC clutch relay. I know the ECU will be expensive.

 

if you unplug the ecu, you will be fine.

 

I was told I could keep the clutch relay jumped all the time and just shut off when AC stops being cold (this means pulling the relay I shorted as a quick fix) but it seems to me that this would still cause the evap to ice up, no? Does air flow thru evap when the blower fan is off?

What about when I'm not driving? How long will it take for the ac clutch drain the battery? The new ECU arrives Monday.

 

Installed new used ecu and everything is working fine now. Compressor still makes some whirring noise but I'll just let it die if it is going to.
