Question On Honda Motors?
I was getting into a little argument with my friend. I said I just thinking of getting an H22A in my Honda. And he said A b18 and a b20b would smoke an H22A. Mind telling me whats with all the motors? (K, h, b, etc.) And is my friend right?
Your friend is wrong, and well you are wrong too... But you both are right at the same time....
It depends on the build of the motor (NA or boosted or stock) also what chassis it is going in to. In addition to that motor condition is a factor. Comparing apples to apples, two motors in PERFECT condition (or at least the same condition), dropped in the exact same chassis, driven by the exact same driver... Well the H22A would probably win, unless maybe the B18 was an ITR motor.
There is just too many X factors that are unknown to compare like this. Now if you said I have a boosted H22 with this and my buddy has a boosted B20 with this, which one would win? I'd say.... Get off the damn computer, go to the track and try. Post results, LOL.
H22 is more power out of the box than any B series, assuming it's in good shape and all other things are equal between the cars. An H22 civic would smoke a N/A B20B, it's got like 60 more HP.

your friends an idiot... no "stock" B series will smoke a "stock" swapped h22a. Compared the jdm b18c itr to the jdm h22a. Both has around the same hp but the difference is torque. If your car is heavy, then its not going anywhere.. thats the power of the h22a. It will haul the cars ***!! especially if its been gutted
I say if your going to get an h22a then go h2b.. h22a long block with a B series transmission

Your friend is crazy, the h22 is a beast and will walk all over a b. What car are you putting it in? I have one in my ek coupe and i love it. I see you are in vegas, me too.
