Im not the greatest with mechanic work, so im just wondering whats the best head for a stock single cam ZC? just picked up a 91 Si Ef a week ago from a tow yard and im trying to slowly fix it up/ or dump it off for a da integra =D

was thinking about going for a z6 head... do i need to change out anything if i put that on ? IE: wire harness or anything?

like i said im learning =D

Is there another head that would be worth swapping on it ? Or would I just be better off having the stock rebuilt with a valve job ?

Any opinions will be much appericated... im new to the mechanic sence and any input would be great.

 

I recently rebuilt the head on my ZC and did a little port matching/casting flash removal.

Ive noticed that it breaths better at high rpms but the difference is pretty slight.

 

i've heard that the y8 head is best. but i'm not any sort of expert. you'd have to convert it to obd1

any change in ecu ? or will the stock ecu work ?

 

for being a single cam, im loving my zc so far. for having simple bolt ons it pulls. just need to replace my clutch. its slipping

i do believe its just the stock d16a6... i could be wrong though, i got it from a tow yard a few weeks ago. stamp on the block just says ZC... i need to get pics going.

I would love nothing more then to boost it... but all those damn upgraded internals are just too expensive for poor old me.

 

zc sohc motors will have a head stamp like this with the year of the engine on the far right...!!!

 

This is exactly the same as my motor (not a pic of my motor though... mines cleaner =D)... maybe i was wrong when i said stamp...
