Redline at 6500 rpm and no V-TEC
I have a H22a4 with a GSR ECU in my 92 accord and the V-TEC should come on at 5000 RPM. Since last night when I hit 6500rpm the hit the rev limiter came on. I usually take it to 7500 when I race. I can't get over 6500 cause it sounds like the rev limiter kicks in at 6500 and it is not getting V-TEC either. Last night I went to the carwash and washed my motor with the pressure washer. I think I might have undone a wire but I don't know. Does any one know what could cause this. Any help would be appreciated.
gotta be careful when you pressure wash your engine bay, what i recommend is purchasing a sprayer that you use for spraying for bugs, it does the job and you can avoid wetting down electrical things. i would check to make sure you didnt disconnect any of your vtec wires, check near your vtec solenoid near your distributor. i dont know a lot about vtec since i run the h23a but i would have to say its either a disconnected wire or you got water inside of a solenoid or sensor. does your check engine light come on at all?
I have no idea how to put my car in limp mode. Is that when you count the blinks on the ECU?? My boy can do that but tomorrow.

here is an article that will tell you exactly how to put it in limp mode, complete with pictures and everything

on your car the connector might be located in a different spot, swing by advanced or somewhere and look at the helms manual and find out where exactly it is

I will check in the morning. I NEED my V-TEC or else I will die.
but anyhoo, the "limp mode" is not when you're counting the blinks, it's when there is a problem like a faulty sensor of some kind and your car wont go past 6500 RPM. think of it as a safety precaution. it will do the same if the car is cold.
like the guys said, run that code and go from there. good luck.
