Best place to test fuel pressure on a 92 Si?
I don't have the car here, and can only get over to see it once in a while - been sitting for a long time, won't run. I suspect old gas but want to test the fuel pressure to be sure the pump is working.
My tester has T connectors and an NPT quick conector, but I did not see a port on this car last time I went over, though I didn't look all that long because it was pouring rain.
I would appreciate it if someone would tell me where the best place to tap in - everything is stock.

I remember hooking mine up right on the fuel rail. Had enough slack so I could hold the gauge in my hand for a road test. It depends on what fittings you have, I guess you could hookup to the fuel filter as well.
On the fuel rail? How exactly - remember I don't have the car here, I remember seeing a banjo bolt on one end of the rail but didn't see anywhere along the rail I though I could connect a hose.
I've got a fuel rail from a 93 Si- don't know if that is different. But there is a tap on the driver side, past the fuel pressure regulator. Nothing is hooked up there. All I had to do was take the bolt out and attach the line for the gauge.
Cool thanks - I'll check that out, so I need a male threaded coupling? Do you know offhand what size? This tester has an assortment of hoses and primarily female connectors, it's actually kind of confusing and the directions suck but hopefully I can figure out some way of hooking it up. (It was a cheap set from Harbor Freight, what do you expect?)
Do you know if the system in the Prelude is a Bosch? I do remember the catalog page saying it would not hook up to a Bosch system, and I am concerned because Honda is not listed in the manual under "example fuel pump pressure" - I don't think it is supposed to be a comprehensive list, but it does list 14 manufacturers, incl. Porsche, Fiat and Renault - but no Honda.

You measure fuel pressure straight from the service bolt port on the fuel rail. Read Below.
Straight from Helms manual ..
1. Relieve fuel pressure.
2. Remove the service bolt on the fuel rail while holding the banjo bolt with another wrench. Attach the fuel pressure gauge.
3. Start engine. *Measure the fuel pressure with engine idling and vacuum hose of the fuel pressure regulator disconnected from fuel pressure regulator and pinched.
Pressure should be: H23a1 and F22a1 .. 255-305 kPa ( 36-43 psi ) , H22a1 .. 230-280 kPa ( 33-50 psi )
4. Reconnect vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
Pressure should be: H23a1 and F22a1 .. 195-245 kPa ( 28-35 psi ) , H22a1 .. 170-220 kPa ( 24-31 psi )

Thanks thats helpful - but I still need to know what type of connector I am going to need. I found another thread and it doesn't sound all that easy to connect.
