Air Conditioning w/ Mugen Intake?
Was thinking about installing my AC. I think I've read somewhere that you can make it fit with the intake if you bend the lines. Does anyone currently have the Mugen intake w/ ac installed?

I know with the version 2 Mugen intake, it's a tough fit. We tried installing it on my friends car and there was no way it was going to fit without some serious bending of the a/c lines. He decided not to use it.
I had the Mugen intake on both my 00 and 98 ITR. It can definitely work, and you do have to be gentle with the lines. It worked out a lot better on the 2000 simply because I only installed it once. On the 98, some other people worked on the car other than myself, plus the intake went in and out of the car on multiple occasions. With those two things, there was a lot of pressure put on one of the AC lines and it eventually developed a kink which meant not so good AC.
If I were to do it again, I would try to figure out a way to do it with custom AC lines, but that's just me...
Again, it can work just fine with the stock lines.
I'm thinking about buying your car too... So I'm all about installing the AC!

i just finished the mugen intake on my 97 ITR half an hour ago..and yea you definitely have to bend the ac lines to make it fit. in fact, for me i had to take the entire transmission brace off to be able to get he darn snorkel in.
on a side note, i notice that i have a higher idle now that i have installed the intake..its hovering around 1k rpm and will only drop when i fully depress the clutch and release when in neutral
sorry to thread jack but anyone have any ideas?

kinda off topic too but is there a difference in power from maybe a aem cold air intake to the mugen intake?? other then well price wise
OP: Remove the hard line bracket infront of the tranny mount, move the lines gently apart and squeeze it in there. The AC line parts that were questionable or did rub can be covered in rubber hosing to keep from destroying them or the intake.
This is how it was done on my brother 97' R with oem AC
