Default new rims on the lude!

So I'm gettin some new bronze 18's for my lude today and I'm wondering what tire size I should be running. I have the stock suspension currently on my base model. The tires that are on the rims are 225/40/18ZR. Are those going to be too wide and/tall?? I've seen alot of people runnin 215's, so that's why i'm askin...Thanks

18's + stock suspension = 4x4 = F-Ugly .... Stay away from 18" rimzzz on a Prelude, will not look good, loss of performance, heavy as can be, ricer looking, one step away from neon underglow kits. Stay away. And don't post threads like these again ..

How wide are the rims? 6.5, 7, 7.5 inches? That what determines if you should run a 205, 215, or 225.

On a stock suspension though, 225/40 will fit anyway. Think of it all like this:

215/35/18 - Larger Contact Patch, Small Profile means Less Protection for Wheels
215/40/18 - Larger Contact Patch, Overall Diameter is Larger
225/35/18 - Even Larger Contact Patch, Recommended tire size for 18x7.5" with at least a +48mm offset
225/40/18 - Even Larger Contact Patch, Overall Diameter is Larger, Not Recommended if car is Lowered

Hope that helps.
My personal opinion though, I haven't been in any Lude yet with 18's that didn't ride like ***, including my 4th gen that was stock height. I had the rims on for 3 days and took them off. I have a buddy in a lowered 5th gen with 18's and it's even rougher cause you feel absolutely everything in the road because the tires are so small, and they can't absorb more of the energy like a bigger tire can like you'd have on a 17" or stock sized rim. Just something to consider.

Yea, I know about the tire size and relative characteristics it creates. I believe they are 18x7.5. And I also had 18's on my accord with that same size on stock suspension and it didn't resemble a truck at all...lol...we'll see, i'll put them on and see what happens. You may see them in the for sale thread soon...lol...

Because I've been told a few different tire sizes, so my target audience was the people who have 18's on their lude and/or know of friends/people who are runnin 18's...So this thread prolly doesn't concern you, so shut the f*ck up...
