Default GC top hats, need opinions

A few months ago I bought the ever popular GC/Koni set up to slam my now dead integra. My spring rates are f425/r350 with the standard valved yellows, I was fairly happy with the ride but honestly even at full stiff I could still notice a bit of bounce that I hoped would disappear when I stiffened up the shocks. Now before I put them back on my new integra (they survived thank god) I'm considering getting the GC top hats so I can completely eliminate my "caddy" bounce. But I just don't want to spend $120 and still have the problem. My ride wasn't terrible or anything, in fact it was quite good, but I aim for perfection. So to anyone with firsthand experience or knowledge in the subject, will the front top hats make a considerable difference?

top hats allow for more shock travel, it'll help.

x2

your bounce is from lack of suspension travel. they are is sitting lower than the suspension was ever designed to go. the top hats buy you roughly one more inch of travel.

i would say raise the car but i have a feeling that's really something you have planned.

But if I needed more travel, wouldn't I be hitting my bump stops? Because I never had that problem. I was thinking that the fact that the shocks wouldn't be pre-compressed so much would help because perhaps they're not made to dampen when they are compressed almost to the point of being all the way down, and that's why I figured the top hats would help. Thoughts?

how are you not hitting your bumpstops if you're slammed? with your rates you have to be. extended top hats give you more travel. it should be pretty easy to visualize

Well I'm sure I was bottoming when I hit pot holes and on really bad roads, but on average streets I never FELT like I was hitting my bumpstops. I guess I might as well just get them and hope it does the trick. Thanks for the advice.

exactly. you basically have it figured out. rough roads cause more suspension travel. extended hats really help when the suspension needs to move. if you need even more you'll want stiffer rates.

500 or 550 fr and 350 rears woulda helped bottoming out a lot.

You are either bottoming out on your bumpstops right now or your UCA's

uh huh, this would be step 2. if the top hats don't fix it, buying 550s up front will likely do so. even 500s. then you take your front 425s and put them out back. list the 350s forsale on ebay and call it a day
