Looking for a good used car to operate as a weekend/road trip car. Something solid, fun, has a trunk and reasonable maintenance costs. I am trying to limit budget to $2k-$3K.

I have always liked the old dove-tail Acura CL and noticed that pricing is pretty decent for a ~1997 model. I figure this car is basically an Accord chassis and engine but there is no specific forum for it, so assume I can get some decent feedback here.

Any CL owners on HT that can give some feedback as to the reliability of the car and any major issues I may encounter ?

*Note: I have a civic and integra already and want something a little different.. other options in my price range are an eclipse/talon or a Prelude.

 

don't get an eclipse... you ever mess with DSM..? Don't. prelude is nice, but heavy. What kind of civic and integra do you have? why do you need another car?

Don't intend to modify the car beyond maybe rims and stereo system. Are stock DSM's not reliable ? If so...sux... a convertible eclipse would be fun.

I travel between Florida and Trinidad (where I live). So I will keep the car in Florida for when I come there. I currently have a swapped hatch and a 93/94 integra japanese model Xi that's being 'restored'. Also have a daily driver that no one wants to know about...heheh
