question for people who run nitrous and have automatics
did your tranny begin to slip after a while? should i go ahead and run nitrous? i have 75k miles and just flushed the tranny fluid and put in honda atf.
EDIT: what are some good prevention steps i can take so my transmission and engine will last longer?

well, to care for your tranny you can:
A) not refill it with diet coke and running it right before swapping it out
b) not let it fall from the tranny jack to the floor during removal
c) not unload it from the truck at the junkyard by swinging the tailgate open, going in reverse at about 15mph, then slamming on the brakes.
those should help

My auto tranny blew up the first time I hit the nitrous.
No, not really.I've put over 70lbs of nitrous through my car and haven't had any problems with the engine or tranny.I would definitely recommend a tranny cooler just to be on the safe side. I don't really care about mine because it will soon be replaced with a manual.
BTW my car has 190,000 miles on it and is driven hard on a regular basis.
Edit: Yes, definitely run nitrous.

you shouldnt have any problems as long as you keep the fluid changed. i do it about once a month. this is of course, assuming that you are not using over a 65-70 shot.
