Rattle can vs. Maaco?
I just got my hatch ready for paint. ALL rust was repaired the right way and emblems were shaved by a Carstar technician.
I am not rich by any means, but I hate my car being multi colored. So I was thinking since a basic Maaco paint job is $200 and flakes and fades in a year, wouldn't a rattle canned paint job be just as good if done by the right person.
I know I'll probably get flamed for even mentioning Maaco or spray paint but just let me know what you think. I didn't wanna spend $1000+ on a car that is 16 years old.
Here is my car and the one below is what color and finish I was looking for. If you have any rattle canned cars that look decent, post up.

If this is your car and want me to take it off, just let me know.

so my opinion, get the cheap maaco paint job, rock it until it chips/you change your mind, and then get a better paint job. I sanded mine and they sealed it. cost me between 400 and 500 and i got it back in 2 or 3 days.

Maaco.
Primer the car yourself
Wetsand primer.
Remove bumpers, tail lights and head lights.
Then take it to them. Maaco doesnt really primer the car (maybe just the bumpers), so the paint can start peeling. But its a decent job, and much better than what your car looks like now.

Thanks guys. I ended up going with the cheapest one they had lol. I'm dropping it off on monday so I'll be sure to post pics when its done.
One question though, if I took it like it is would they even sand the portions I haven't primered? And then seal it.
Or would they just say screw that and seal over what I have?

My personal preference is if you are planing on "showing your car" and are trying to win awards than get a good paintjob $3000+ .if its a DD and you want a "ok" paint job, Maaco, i really dont like 50bucks paint jobs, they are tacky.
If you prep your own car and tell them exactly want you want than Maaco is just fine, but remember it wont be a $3000+ paint job..there will be imperfections in it, but who care if its a DD..but I'm sure if you find the right Maaco, your be pleased.
Just remember each Maaco is independent owner so each Maaco is different, do a lot of research before deciding to goto Maaco. But in the end its your choice.....

There is a rattle can thread but yeah anyways. I think it depends on your area, who is doin the painting, and how the prep job is done so bottom line is you get what you put into it. _M
Also, you cant exactly blame or praise Maaco for the paint job. Maaco doesnt paint your car, an employee there paints your car. So the same way "Richard" can do a kick *** paint job for $400 you paid, "Jack" can do a ****ed up job and make you think Maaco sucks at painting cars.
