Default SIK Creations/Stage 6 Motorsports 09/10 Build Thread

This year has had it's highs and lows for us. We first got involved with drag racing back in January of 09. First day to the track at our first event, we looked like this:

First time off the trailer, went 9.99 @ 145.

As time went a long we decided we'd stick with the car for a little, since IFO was allowing the solid axle in the rear.

So we went a little further, car got featured online at Tunerzine.com. Also ran it's fastest time yet of 9.62 @ 157.

But now, with the $10,000 dollar shoot out in October and no series really allowing the solid axle anymore in street class, we decided it would be best to part our ways with the shell, break it down, and build a new chasis.

As of Friday 9/14/09 we picked up this coupe.

We got bored while sitting around for a customer so Cesar, Dwight from Stage 6, and I decided to start stripping some stuff.

By the end of the night we had all the interior out, engine bay completely stripped, and all body parts taken off of the car. Here are some pictures from earlier in the night, my phone had died shortly after.

Cesar had a nice little surprise when taking off one of the taillights...

We will keep this updated while we go, whether on my account or Cesar's (sik9sec). We got a long long way to go, but we should be alright by the end of September.

Update 8/18/2009
Pictures from dropping the car at Stage 6 to start the cage and remove all the sound deadening.

I'll keep you guys posted!

Update 9/03/2009

Alright so we've been a little behind with updating this. So here we go.

We got the car back from Stage 6 on Monday 8/31 with the sound deadening removed, all new urethane bushings, the suspension from the old chasis, and the car 100% gutted.

We decided to put the doors from the old chasis and the slick/skinny setup we picked up from a guy down south.

Since the doors have no moldings, we decided to go ahead and shave the rear quarters.

Then came the fun part, shaving the engine bay.

Just for comparisons, we threw the JoJo front end on.

So someone must have stayed late last night because I came in this morning to this....

Bay isn't cleared yet, just based.

Seeing how it looks next to the chameleon.

Have some more updates tomorrow as we should have all the body and car primered by end of Saturday. Currently working on the roof.

Update 9/08/09

So we decided to go ahead and change the color of the bay.

Also got the roof done.

And since we like to "blend it", decided to keep the chameleon theme going.

Update 9/09/09

Car was brought to Stage 6 and Dwight started to do his magic with the cage.

Update 9/11/09

Big thanks to Will and David from Hybrid Racing for the hook up! See you naggers on Sunday.

Had some more stuff come in today but the pictures were fuzzy. So Monday it is!

Update 9/15/09!

Cage is now 100% done.

Seat is mounted and set.

Gas tank is done also. I wanted to use a keg shell but then again I also love to party.

Big ups to Jeremy at Drag Cartel for the hook up on the cams!

And then snail mail finally showed up with our new snail....

Update 9/16/09! This is a big one

Uh oh... getting closer....

.................................................. ..

Tadaa!

It fits!

Updated 9/17/09!

Here we were at the end of the day yesterday!

Starting to make some moves.

Update 9/21/09!

Missing a couple steps but you get the rift of things.

Fuel setup is done!

It runs! Car should be tuned tomorrow. Gotta finish some little things and on a time frame with Mase going out of town, so hopefully by tomorrow night we are a 100% go!

Update 9/25/09! This is how the car looks as it is completed.

Not the coupe, the hatch. Are spindle mount rears allowed now in any street car class/shootout? Looks like a HR car.

In the beginning we didn't really know the rules. Their was a good deal on the solid axle so we jumped on it but now.... boy do we regret that move lol.

Thank you very much. Hopefully in the next month/month half we'll have it all done.

Ya that was partially why we got it. We've been getting good 60' foot times but doesn't hurt to go faster.
