you'll get better fuel economy and run a bit more efficiently. stock ECUs come pretty rich with pretty conservative timing. not a waste IMO

If you have a cheap header, then I would not expect tuning to net you many ponies. Therefore my suggestion would be to just get a piggyback like the VAFC.

You can pick up a VAFC for $50. I have never heard of FGK so I'll assume it's junk.

Yeah, "rare as hell". No wonder.

Anyway, I'll stick with the suggestions I've already given. As for the "don't waste money on small gains" comment. That's just dumb.

VAFC-II ~ $100
PnP harness ~ $50
Dyno-tuning ~ $175
Total cost ~ $325
Power increase ~ 3whp

Annual savings from the 5mpg improvement ~ $375

rofl... thats just dumb? If you want better gas mileage, simply tune the car. Wasting money on ricer mods is "dumb".

If your focusing on a power increase there is a few high quality parts that work together well. I had my time with "bolt ons" when I look back it was a waste of money. The car is was barely any faster. If Honda-tech didnt ban Blake/98vtec I would tell you to talk to him about putting yourself together a nice n/a build. If your more concerned about gas mileage, just make sure you do your regular maintenance. The car gets decent gas mileage stock so... is a $250 tune +$xxx hardware really worth it?

I would, but you should drop some stage 1 cams in there when you do it, otherwise, dont.

The math already proved that it IS worth it.

Slapping random parts together is how engines blow up.

IMO, there are gains to be made from the factory settings on the stock motor. Gains in fuel economy and power. If you don't plan to do much to the car anyway, I say do it. If you have big plans, I'd wait, unless you have a lot of disposable money, in wich case, you can paypal me some.

I say NO not worth the effort and money to tune stock car for a couple of ponies. If you want better fuel economy you should not have bought a Prelude.

Later on you're gonna want more power out of your engine, so why not save what you have and plan where you want it to go in the future!

I say get it tuned now for the mods you have. You should gain some power and mpg as mentioned. Then in the future, if you add more mods, you already have the hardware in place and you can just get it re-tuned for the upgrades. For those of you saying he should save his money for bigger mods in the future, what big mods is he going to do without getting it tuned then anyway?
