Icon6 Bored ls ????

So i am getting a b18b1 tomorrow and it needs to be bored out. so im guessing im going to have to go to get b20 pistons. i am told that boring out a ls to a b20 is alright because the cylinder walls are strong enough to do this. so i want some reassurance of that. second im not sure weather i want to go ls/v or not. im relatively new to the Honda scene and Ive only put a zc in my old ef, and put a b16a2 in my buddies si after it was rebuilt. so Ive never gone from d to b. i have a 98ex ek that needs some more *****....frankly that y8 is slow as ****. so i want to upgrade but to keep my reliability. if anyone has any information on this. some help is greatly listened to. i am still trying to find a complete list of EVERYTHING i need to have b4 i swap the motor so im not left hanging. and id like some thoughts on the ls/v or keeping it just the ls. thanks
ken

From personal experience I would reccomend you boring out a b20 to 2.2L. boring out a b18b1 to 2.0L would be the same as buying a b20 block, although some say that the b20 block can be weaker than the b18. its all in preference. However dont expect these motors to withstand daily abuse. they are great for weekend warriors/project cars, but take in consideration that they wont last as long as honda motors from the factory.

i want to try to make some use out of the block being it is pretty much going to be a 30$ investment so i wanted to see if there was anything i could do with it. i want to try and use it in my ex...or go b16 but $$$ is a huge factor (like who doesn't know that right) so cheep is better. i can get oem internals for 60% off so i wasn't worried about finding the parts i need just seeing what i could actually do with the parts i have

That is true. Like I said I'm not extreamly experenced in the wounderfull world of hondas...yet. but so the jist that I am geting is its proably not worth the effort to make a daily out of this motor....save up and get a full swap of something else that is complete and dosent have problems? I know that this block could be used but the effort and money would be not worth it. And I read and was told by a coupple people that you have to resleve a block to use b20 in a b18....so maby I should just go b16 or find a more complete ls block....because that y8 is 2 flippin slow and sluguish
