OT: Just got a Beater.. gonna be my 1st Project Car..
Today, I bought a 93 Si to accompany my ITR.. (20K a year is too much)..
it's got 137K miles on it.. all stock.

b18c1-ek Nice Guy..
The car needs some Body work.. (front end and probably paint)
Engine runs strong.. Tranny needs work..
What is the step that I should take to 'properly' restore this Si?
Do I work on the Engine and Tranny first?
or work on the Body (Get hood, fender, etc and repaint the whole body) ?
oh.. by the way, I am not turning this Si to become a 12 seconds car..
I just want this car to runs good and look nicer than now.
I will use this car to work...
oh.. any help on links to find good deals on Body parts/ Engine/Tranny will be very helpful..
also if anyone want to recommend a good Shop around Pittsburgh Area..
TIA..
note: no, I am not gonna love this Si more than my R. I bought the Si to Baby my R. (no salt in winter!).

Don't put any money into that thing... that'll defeat the purpose of owning a beater.
If I were you, I would just replace shocks (if they are blown), do routine tune-up (oil, fluid, spark plugs/wires, rotors, valve adj., etc.) Just drive it until it falls apart.
Also, as much as I love Honda, I just cannot get myself to have one as a "beater"... they are too tempting to fix up (and the rice scene sux!).

RGuy - Hm.. B-series Engine? Depends on my connections and how well Steelers run this year.
D - You might be right about the Body.. but people at work will complain if they see the front end damage on the car.. so at least I should fix it a little..
Cosworth - I love Honda too much.. so my beater got to be a Honda.
Si that is. Hehe.. not DX.
NekkedR - Looks like I will be stopping by to your shop soon!!.. I know you'll help me. HeHe..

... but realized that I can't be fixing up two cars.
And, actually, I'd get a VX... then throw in a EX/Si motor with Si tranny for cheap... a bit faster than a 2400lb Si.

[EDIT] I forgot what year my car was...
Plus I forgot to mention that it was only $5,000

Turtle -
no offense on your DX.. hehe.. I just want to make sure I get enough power without swapping any Engine to the car..

Say if I want to totally SOUPED up an old car like this,
do I start from the Engine or the Body?
(put new engine 1st then Fix all body+paint or vice versa?)

Engine first...there's nothing better than a stealth car, plus you can work on it without worrying about dropping things on it, sitting your pop on the hood, and so-forth....little things like that; that you wouldn't want to do if it was a new coat of paint...
