I know I'll probably get flamed for this, but I'm looking for fake CTR headlights for a 96-98 coupe. I know that people will say spend the money and get the real ones, but to me 400+ dollars for a set is crazy. Basically I'm looking for replicas that are close but not crazy expensive. Is there a certain company that makes them that are reasonably close?
honestly just take yours apart, take out the reflector thing and spray the inside with silver paint.
thats what i did with mine...

Those don't look bad but I'm looking for something with a darker tint to it. Also, I'm not wanting to ruin how well the lights actually work. I guess I'll probably just end up going with the Depo ones since Depo seems to be the way to go for aftermarket lighting. A lot of the eBay ones are close but I'm having a hard time believing they fit that well.

And AFAIK, painting your headlight housings doesn't affect the light output whatsoever, so you're good to go.

I understand now what you mean about painting them now. I think I'll probably just end up buying the black Depo headlights since I can get them for 85 shipped and then just sell the OEM lamps. That way I have new headlamps and housings instead of the OEM ones which are leaking and starting to fade.

Yea, unfortunately you don't seem to understand. The OEM CTR lights are 400 dollars, these are 85 shipped. Also, my OEM ones I have now are leaking and the plastic on them is fading. I'd rather have a new set of headlights than my use 140k miles headlights.
let me rephrase
oem that have been opened, cleaned, sanded, polished to look like new > depo.
all day.
i'm not trying to be a dick
you can get whatever you like, but most people on this board would agree i think, that restoring your oem headlights would be better/cheaper then buying depo ones.

my heat covers were 100% faded and yellow. just take them apart and sand from 400-2000 grit then polish with a plastic polish. mine look like new now. see above pic.
