S2000 Synchronizers
Hey guys, don't come into the S2000 forum very often. I've pulled a trans off of my friend's recently to replace the clutch and would like to replace the 2nd and 3rd gear synchros (haven't pulled the trans apart yet to see exactly what the issue is yet).
But my question is... does anyone know where, other than Honda, I can get them? I'd like to just get the synchronizers without the sleeve and gear assembly. But not sure if I can.
Thanks, everyone.

There are no aftermarket parts for the tranny other than going with replacement gears / dog box from Australia. Very expensive.
To repair the S2000 tranny requires purchase of very expensive gear clusters from Honda. You can not get the individual parts or syncro rings. Most of us mortals just replace with another stock working tranny.

. . . and if you do replace the whole trans, depending on what year your friends S is, consider an AP2 (2004+) transmission. Synchros were changed to include carbon fiber and ratios are better on lower gears for acceleration and the same up top to maintain MPG. Very common switch but it does require a swap of the output flange back to the old AP1.
