Default Hankook Ventus RSS Z211 C50 compound

I have a line on a set of four of these for sale. This is the older/discontinued version. They want 400.
I run an ITB car and have mostly used ra-1's. While not the stickiest, they do last a long time.

Anybody have experience with these Z211 tires?

Yes, they are great. I ran mostly on C30 compound, wich is a bit harder than the C50, and wich is a bit less grippier than the RA1. I guess the C50 compound is just perfect.

I found that while they do not perform as well (but they're still pretty good) as the RA1, they do not last as long, sadly.

Can't beat it for the price...go ahead...they're not crap like the michelin sport cup.

"less grippier"??? Do you mean "less grippy" or "grippier?"

The Sport Cup is an excellent R compound tire. The only downsides to it are (a) it's expensive, and (b) it's optimized for heavier cars, so it works really really well on, say, a 3400-pound E46 M3, for which it's one of the very best R comps you can buy, but you won't take full advantage of its capabilities on a 2200-pound Civic.

I heard from someone who had run them that they turn to "plastic" quickly.

I'm assuming he meant they drop off pretty fast.

Is this something you experienced?

I run a welded diff, so the front tires see a good bit of abuse...plus I run in florida, so the heat is a factor.

This was always an advantage of the ra-1's for me.

They offer less overall grip when compared back to back (RA1 and C70 Z211) in the same size/wheel size at a 28°C sunny day. My english sucks, i'm sorry.

IMO an expensive and unsuable on anything under 3k pounds tire make them a very unexcellent tire, the worst you can have for you money...it is not excellent in any point since we don't drive heavy porsches or BMWs (I don't). I'm pretty sure we both share the same point of view...I just think it's an error to affirm that they are a great tire on a Honda forum... they are nowhere excellent on any hondas. Sorry I mean no harm

I don't understand the plastic comment...make sure they are not old, and that they've been conserved right. I've seen some Z211 desintegrate pretty quickly when dry and ran without enough psi.

The Pilot Sports have come down in price significantly, and there are a few Honda guys using them who like them a lot. I almost bought a set, but have since run out of money and time to use them.

The Z211 is a pretty old tire, and not that great. I personally would rather spend $100-150 more for fresh RA1s or NT01s.

Still much much better than the sports cup...tested, no guessing. Just sharing my waste of $.

They were still made in 2008, that's not very old.

I do agree that the OP should get some RA1 and nothing else !!!!!!

You were testing the harder compound, which could explain the difference in grip.

I'm going to try the Z214 C50 compund, I've heard they're pretty good, but idk. I had some Hoosier A6, Kumho V710, so I'll compare how they are on the track.

Z214 C50:
