Anyone here ever install a lexan rear window on a DC2?
I was thinking about getting a carbon fiber rear hatch and lexan rear window to drop weight. Does any have any knowledge about this kinda thing? I dont know anything about it. Do you have to use an adhesive or what? Will it even work? Any advice
I've never done it on the teg, but you will have to screw/bolt it in. I wouldn't recommend using a window weld or anything like that. Lexan scratches pretty easily, so replacement should be easy down the road.
Drag car or DD ?
Most of us use Fiberglass hatches with lexan screwed into place. It's a one piece lift off unit.
See "Dr.Marv's" thread on here yesterday for good pictures.

its gonna be a dd thats why i was only gonna do the rear...I am not to worried about being legal they can write me tickets all day for "IMPROPER EQUIPTMENT"
Im having a hard time finding a sheet of lexan that will fit. All the local stores only sell sheets 36in wide and that wont cut it for the teg hatch.
dont use screws, this is your best option FAL Molded rear glass

I would say around 20-25lbs maybe more between comparing my oem hatch w/glass and the oem w/ smashed out glass.but the reason i wanted lexan is because someone smashed my rear glass so i figured it be cheaper and lighter on my track car. But like people said if the car is driven on the street i wouldnt reccomend changing out the glass.
