k20a2 head swap

Default k20a2 head swap

i have a 02 civic si and i wanted to swap the head from a type-s and was wondering if i would need the ecu from the type-s and would i need the ecu tuned or would i be better going with the hondata ecu?

yes, and yes the tuneable ecu is always a good choice but not absolutely needed.

hummm if you take the head then you might need some of the support mods like the oil pump and stuff. not 100% sure but if your plan is to put an a2 head on an a3 block you might want to do some research into what else supporting mods you need. i know the a3 head is said to not have a good flow but the a2 does. also the oil pump and coolers on the a2 are different and better than the a3 so u might want to swap those out. i read a forum post on ephatch about this. ask weltal on ephatch he knows more on this subject and area. Im pretty sure though if you just put the a2 head on though its going to be a lil drama in the oil area. Good luck too you though and yea i would get kpro before you do all that swapping!
