Just now a couple of guys stop to have a cig after church. So they decided to park to nearest import, which is my R. Their church is just down the street from me. They came to have a cig, which is ok. But my first reaction to anyone is find out what they want, but be kind about it.


You need to understand that my R has been almost stolen twice from my house. So I need to watch out for it more. Remember I live in Pomona, CA. Los Angeles County. Well I cant trust no one, so I worry alot about my R.

But I kept it cool with them, they asked questions like is it stock nice this, nice that they told me but, ***...

Has this ever happen to you before?

I hate to say it, but that's to be expected when you drive a Type-R.

 

it's a car, people are going to look at it. If you are scared of it getting stolen, then sell it before it does get stolen. You are also profiling asians at theives....

Every day. I live in LA county too, so I get a lot of that BS. I just tell them that its not a real type r, ITs just a RS with a 5 lug conversion. 90% of the people in my town make fun of me cuz they think i drive a fake R

Exactly, it goes with the territory. You might want to consider buying a daily driver.

now im not profiling asians, I would apologize if it were so, but i wont because im not.The last person that came by and asked questions where Mexicans, which I am. Theives come in any shape or form, God is the only who can judge.

I'm used to it, but if thats what comes with owning an R. Then its a small sacrifice.

These are the questions I get asked.

1. "IS IT A REAL TYPE R?"
2. "IS IT STOCK?
3. "WHAT IS THAT ON YOUR DASH?" "I have my VAFC on my dash"
4. "WHATS WITH THE DIFFERENT HOOD?" "I HAVE A CF HOOD"

What kind of questions do you get?

 

My R. is a daily Driver.

I get, "Supercharger? Why don't you put on a supercharger? Is there anything under the hood? I want to put a supercharger and turbo on my rx7."

 

Im stock, no job no money. But I still have plans for the R.
NA of course.

 

I get why do you tell people you have a R when its just a RS?? hahaha..I love it

 

Its nice to say that when your racing, but Im paying a lot for it, that Type R sticker is a lot of money...

 

My favorite questions from local morons are "Did you convert your gsr into a type r?" or "i thought they only made those type r's in yellow".

 

Its easier for you guys to get away with telling people its a fake, but what can us PY owners do?

Just for the record though, no one has asked me if its a "real" R yet.

You know what's even more 'tarded? At an <u>autoX</u>, these shady-a$$ people just come and study your engine bay. (The last holy ground for car enthusiasts, other than at road track.) They don't introduce 'emselves and just stare at my engine bay. WTF? If you're checking it out and genuinely curiously, ask me. At least say "hi, my name is xxx." But, don't be just staring at it to see what you can steal from my car.
