Default HELP! NEED HONDA VETERANS ON THIS ONE

Hey honda-tech i need your help desparately. so i take my car around the block for the first time ever, and i pull back in my driveway and noticed that i was leaking transmission fluid..so i take a look to see where its coming from and it deffinatley looked like it was coming out of my drivers side axle where it meets the tranny..soo i figured must be that axle seal, so i tear my car back apart and take out the axle and put in a brand new seal ( i bought one for a 91 integra ls..idk if all the b series cable trannys have the same one?), put it all back together and take it for another spin just to find it still leaking just as bad as before. i have no idea what to do now..i have a cable supposevly b16 tranny in my crx with of course b series axles...i need this car running now that my DD just **** the bed..please help

I'm assuming you mean that its coming out of the half shaft, not the axle, since you say its on the driver side. Are you certain that its not leaking from the rear main seal or oil pan (near that area)? Also, might want to ensure its not leaking out from the speedo cable. Other then that, maybe your case is cracked. Ouch!

Is it comming from the actual transmission itself? Or from the axel?

sounds like you make have worn diff carrier bearing/s..unless you pinched the new seal you just put in... check and see if the half shaft has play in there..

which half-shaft are you using? i know the DA's half-shafts are larger in diameter where it meets the differential than the DC's.

Is it a small leak or a puddle?

i'm not sure on the halfshaft but the axels are DA's.
did you remove the dust covers?

EDIT; DA halfshaft

it's not so much which transmission your running, the half-shaft is what determines which axel seal you should be using since you can use a DA or DC half-shaft.

i believe the DC half-shaft has both male ends, and the DA half-shaft has a male end at the differential and female end at the axle.

if you have the DC half-shaft you would have to get an axel seal from a hydro B-series transmission.

hmm i think i may be running DC axles but the passenger side isnt affected whatsoever...and what do you mean by dustcovers? if you mean the boots no but if you mean the plate that bolts up(so the bottom of my flywheel is alittle exposed)then yes but nothing is leaking out of there

hmm that deff could be a problem because the axles seal that was orignally in it was for a DA but im pretty sure im running a DC halfshaft , and when i bought a new seal it was for a DA integra.. and someone on b20vtec was telling me all b series axles seals are the same..but half the people on that site cant properly type a full sentence so that info would be nice too

all passenger side axles on b-series transmissions are the same. it sounds like you need to get an axle seal for DC, it's about 5mm smaller in diameter. i think i have an extra one, where are you located?

the good thing is that they're not expensive, so good luck and let us know when you get this fixed.

nope actually im low...thanks frank i feel alot more confident going at this tomorrow now..im going to try and get one shipped to the dealership my dad works at so i dont have to drive for over an hour to the acura dealership lol...also can i get away with using a honda hydro halfshaft seal such as an 00 si one? because the honda dealership is right down the road, and the acura one is far away if not thats fine though
