Default KLR broke down today

I was on my way to work and riding up the 133 near my house when the bike hiccupped and stalled out like it ran out of gas. I was able to coast if off the highway and pull into a private driveway to take a look. It turned out to be an old vent hose between the carburetor and petcock that had split and fallen off. I cut the end off and reconnected it and she ran fine all the way to work.

For you guys with older bikes - check your hoses!

I'm assuming it has one of those vacuum operated petcocks, like my Yamaha XS has. I've heard of a lot of people replacing them with manual units, because diaphragms are supposedly prone to problems.
