complaint: speed bleeders? no no....
i just installed a set of speed bleeders and i must say they are crap.
they were about 6 mm too long so it didnt screw in all the way. which is a problem because poof, the bolt stripped on me from trying to screw it in! Now I know you might think "cross threading?" ... but i didnt cross thread.
They strip with the slightest of pressure, hand tight and its all over.
on the bright note:
They do work, but i dont know how many more bleedings i can do with these bleeders not stripping
they arent worth the 70 dollars i paid. Heck they werent even made for the car I installed them on and i specifically ordered them for an integra
anyone from speedbleeders on this board like to explain to me what happened?
You wont ever see business from me again, nor anyone that asks me what i think of them

$70? I paid $8 each, times four that is $32, you got ripped.
Where did you get them from? I got mine at http://www.speedbleeder.com
They do strip easily, but not as badly if you use a flare wrench. I like mine. Definately worth it I thought.

guess i should have done more research on this crap...everyone in this forum was gaga over this stuff. I dont know why.

i bought them from http://www.speedbleeders.com
and the point isnt the cost...its just the quality of the item.
. they arent even worth the 8 dollars a piece.[Modified by Soup ****, 3:46 PM 8/25/2002]
i have yet to understand why some many people have problems with speedbleeders. over 60k miles on mine, 3 winters worth of salt, and multiple bleeding sessions... whatever.

I agree, I installed mine about 2 weeks ago and I love them. It so easy to get a good pedal.
Yeah they do stick out a little , but its not a problem, just dont try and crank them down all the way.

Did u read the directions? Its a very small amt of torque that u tighten them down with...
I got mine, i installed them, bled my brakes, and they were fine. IMO they were good quality, didnt leak, and i didnt even come close to stripping them at all, using a socket. shrug.
speedbleeders still get
from me

Russell also makes them. When I ordered mine they only had them for the rear in stock, fronts were back ordered. Will install this week if time allows. Get them here: http://www.philsinc.com Under $11/pair.
Wow, speedbleeders allow you to bleed the brakes on your own...I gotta look into these.
When you remove the stock bleed screw to install these, does the oil come out like mad or just trickles?

Turtle - who quickly got himself a set when Aleph wasn't availible for a bleeding session!
you should try that pressure bleeder from motive. It's $50 and you can use it for multiple cars. Plus if you do a home-depot mod to it (thanks to floyd on this board), it won't leak. I've used it on my car and both of my parents' cars and i have not had a single drip of brake fluid leak out.

i have been using speedbleeders for 3.5 years on my daily driver in chicag. they kick ***. just follow the instruction and tighten to the xx inch pounds. no, they do not screw all the way in, so what?? mine have been through about 8 bleedings so far without ANY problems at all.
