theres a bit of rust on the car im looking at but its all surface rust, the only problem is that it was in a rollover however the only damage is cosmetic. the damage is on the roof, its like wrinkled but doesnt have any leaks. How would you fix roof damage?
Do yourself a favor and keep looking. dont jump on the first thing that you see. Make sure you check everything. Patience is key when buying a car as old as an EF.
yeah dont buy a car that has a messed up roof. seems like too much work to get it back to normal. these cars a dime a dozen. its finding one that is in good condition/molested that makes it difficult.

One thing i would look for is a stock un-molested EF, a car that has a swap already sounds enticing but most likely you would be getting a car missing many little things, wiring that looks like a rats nest, ect.
So start on your project car yourself dont buy an unfinished project
try to look outside of your area you may find some regions have much less rust on cars.

-Stock
-No Rust
-Unmolested Wiring
-Accident free
Look for those 4 things and you'll have a much easier time completing whichever build you're planning.

That's one downside for people who live in the northern states. Finding older Hondas with minimal rust is a rarity. We get the colder winters and salt is required on the roads to reduce ice and it eats away at your car. Even after one winter, the rust on mine is noticeably worse, and that was even after going to great lengths to wash it after I drove it. Planning on garaging it for the winters from now on.
since i live in MN the reigning king of rusty *** cars i cope with rust, as long as its not in a vital area its fine with me, because i can have it fixed. i mean you CAN NOT find a project honda for under $1000 without it being rusty and/or an eg sedan. and im looking to start a project and find a car for under $600 because then my dad will pay for the car and that will save a very considerable amount of money
Make sure it hasn't been in an accident - my headlights don't line up, front bumper is off, and both fenders have big gaps because the previous owner ran into a wall
