how to tell if a chipped p06 ecu has been converted to p28?
Take a picture of the inside of the ecu & post it here...
Another thing would be to simply look and see if components have been added at IC14 etc.

When i put it in any car that has a non vtec motor it throws a code, so i am thinking as its not seeing the knock, oil pressure, and other vtec **** is why it throws the code on a non vtec motor.
Thanks for the help

knock has nothing to do with VTEC...
that ECU has had the VTEC parts added.
it's the chip that tells it to look for the VTEC parts of the engine. Even if you have the VTEC parts in the ECU, the chi can be set for a non-VTEC engine.

+2 The ecu has vtec components in it & probably has a vtec eprom chip in it.
If you want to run the ecu on a non-vtec motor, you will need a chip programmed for the non-vtec motor.
