hey guys i got a 95 gsr tranny, i plan on purchasing all oem new itr usdm parts to replace the gsr tranny internals, will it work?
thanks so much!!!
thanks so much!!!
hmmm i believe i was told once by my brother that itr sncyros won't fit into a gsr tranny shell..but i could be wrong...but also since you have the money to buy the internals for a type r tranny minus will get the shell with it and everything...
Not sure if would work....
but iirc, you could use gears from 99-00 si 2nd, 3rd then the type r final drive + lsd = type r trans with out double synchros basically

are you sure your syncronizers are shot? i mean, i'd hate for someone to spend money on something they really don't need.
After parts and labor, it'll be cheaper to just buy an ITR transmission.
And FYI, all B Series transmission cases are the same, just depends if it's cable or hydraulic.

Besides the gearing being shorter there really isnt much of a difference as far as quality goes.....take into consideration what the tranny's gonna be used for....u know....highway or just city driving...drag racing, roadracing, blah blah blah. IMO I would rebuild the gsr tranny with the stock stuff...uve got a tranny with good all around gearing my friend..enjoy.
I have a GSR trans in my Integra and like it a lot better than my friend's Integra with a B16 transmission. The gearing is too short IMO and revs out very high on the highway.
I'm going to be getting a Gear-Speed Carbon syncro and collar kit, along with the RSX dual syncro set for my GSR transmission.

Bump thanks alot for the info guys,
guess i"ll just rebuild this tranny with oem gsr internals again this is for a turbo build, getting rid of my stock gsr head, stopped my itr oem head internals order, purchasing a 01 gsr head ported and polished, with super tech complete valve train, springs etc, only 2k miles on head and it comes with intake mani and throddle body for 600 usd but im going with itr cams, need a b18c1 bare block,

lately there has been a guy on ebay selling ITR tranny's BNIB, o miles for 1300 obo, i checked with someone who bought one and they said it was legit, the guy even claims an oem acura 1yr warranty, - not sure if he can do that or not.
thanks for all the help 98-01 usdm im going with, willing to trade with little bit of cash, 95 gsr tranny, 2000 stock gsr head also havlean minty 97 rear gsr cloth seats black...
the biggest perk of the itr box is the LSD. if the OP rebuilds his GSR box he could easily use the ITR lsd.
personally, when i was in this situation. i sold my GSR box for $400, added $900 and bought a new ITR box. since i had a jdm itr engine already in the car it turned out to be a great DD combo. the b16 gears are much tighter. the worst part about the gsr gears is the 1-2 drop. if you used a longer 1st gear it also would be a great box, just longer geared.
it should but not sure about syncros will work it ll be alot of money to do y wouldnt you want to keep the gsr internals are you going all motor?
