Default 1990 CB7 Hesitation

My 90 Accord LX started hesitating a few months back after being towed (dolly) from Phoenix, AZ to Boise, Idaho.

When I give it gas, it has like no power... Everything else works fine, it just doesn't wanna go anywhere.

I've heard ethanol will cause this, and gas in Boise has ethanol but so does gas in Phoenix.

It was fine in Phoenix, and apparently (according to mother dearest) was fine in Boise for 3 or 4 days.

Any ideas? I need to fly to Boise, get this car running, and drive it back. I wanna get this done over like a 3 day weekend (yeah, right...) so I'd like to have it narrowed down to a few problems.

I have a 1990 Accord EX and last year I had the same problem of hesitation. I had alot of things checked out. You wouldn't believe what some mechanics told me. When I went for an inspection and I had to change the O2 Sensor (Oxygen Sensor) the hesitation went away. Another time I was told the egr valves caused my engine light to light up. I replaced the TPS and there was no change, then a Honda expert said it was just the egr vlaves and they had to be cleaned out. The parts are cheap but there is alot of labor involved. My mechanic knows money is tight with me so he took off the TPS and blew air and a cleaner in there and things were OK after that. At least I hope for awhile.
I had another problem similar with the engine light and all he did was gently tap the 2 solinoids with a tool to knock out some dirt buildup and again things were good. My car is 19 years old with only 122K. Still runs good but my milage sucks. I only get about 12-15 mpg and I don't qualify for CashForClunkers. The internet says when the car was new if averaged 22 mpg. Good Luck, Charlie

I had the same problem with my 90 Accord. I have I/H/E and cat delete so I could'nt understand why the car hesitated. In my case it was the gas, I promised never to run low grade again and have not had the same problem since. Good luck and dont run low grade!
