Help me break into the 10's!
Heres the setup:
2001 Integra, full interior
H22A built block/completely stock head
T67 @ 16psi
480whp/364tq
MH 24.5" slicks at 9psi
So I went to the track last Friday, for the first time in years, and only got two runs in. First run 11.8 @ 125mph w/ 1.8 60ft., second run 11.5 @ 125 mph w/ 1.9 60ft. I have my 2step set at 7000rpm and shifted normal (not powershifting). I was spinning all through 1st gear and it was really hard to tell when was a good time to shift into 2nd. I nose dived on the first run because I waited to long to shift into 2nd and I think I shifted too soon on the second run.
Should I drop the psi on my slicks some more? Would that help me gauge when to shift into second?
Also how much time does powershifting really take off?
Im hoping to hit 10's with the way my setup is with just messing with tire pressures and driving. Think its possible?

drop tire pressure a little, start with 7lbs.
turn the launch down. h22's make a lot of torque so you dont need a lot of rpm to get it going. you have more than enough power to go 10's. should do it no problem with some more seat time.

you WILLLL go 10's once you get used to the car and the power. Trust me..
lower the tire pressure , and try to get that 60' time down..
i like 8psi personally coz after a burnout it will be around 9.5-10psi.
480whp is plenty power to do it. Just get more seat time.
good luck.

With that mph, you'll be hard pressed to get 10's in that car as it sits. You'll definitely need seat time. You'll like the times much better if you cut around 1.75 60's. But I'm thinking unless you pull some weight out, you'll need to turn the power up a bit to get to where you want. Not much we can tell you other than keep making small changes and work from there. I'd say lower the 2-step down towards 6000-6500 rpm and try that. But practice, and try to get it there how it sits!
Thanks for the words of encouragement and advice! I know I definitely need some seat time. I'll lower my 2step and tire pressures and go from there. I'm really hoping I wouldnt need to strip the car down but I will if I have to.
Are you supposed to spin all through 1st gear? When do you guys know to shift into 2nd?

you'll be suprised... he cut a 11.8 with 1.8 60ft... Then ran 3 tenths faster with a SLOWER 60ft... LOL A 1.9 is garbage... Theres people with 200whp and drag radials pulling 1.9s... With that power... 1.70 might even be possible...
Its clear that his car aint even close to hooking... And on top of that... He bogging the critical 1-2 shift everytime which is costing him alot of time...
I understand the car is heavy... But he got enough power to get it there... Just has to actually put it down... Guess he just gonna have to come back and prove one of us wrong...

i put down 490whp, ran 11.1 @ 130 with a 1.72 60' in a full weight integra. i personally dont think 125mph traps will get you 10's. not with a 2500lb+ car
^^ agree.
definitely drop tire pressure, 5 1/2 to 7psi
but im not sure your car will quite make it into the 10's with that trap speed.
my street car goes 11.4@118 on 10psi
and 10.89@131 is my best on t67 20psi with 1.71 60'
if you can get your car to in the 1.6x's 60'ft.s then you will have a chance.

I figure if I can pull a 1.6 60ft thats already 3 tenths off 11.5. Also combining with a good 1-2 shift, I'm pretty confident I can do it. Pinks is this weekend so I wont get a chance to run again until next week. I will definitely keep everyone posted though! I'll also add a video, just picked up a camcorder.
Thanks! The head is completely stock.. meaning the butterflies are even in the intake manifold still. Block was built by me with Benson sleeves, CP 9:1, Eagle H-beams, ACL bearings, micropolished and balanced crank, balance shafts removed. I put down the 480 on pump gas (92 octane) and very conservative timing.

if you can get a 1.6 you have a decent chance, but a 1.6 in a full weight street car is highly sought after but not easy to get. all of us with street cars want 1.6 60 fts
i have got 2 of them ever, i hope to get more of them again.

if you are already putting down those numbers drop the 2-step down to like 6000 and work from there on the launch. once you get to the point where you can get it to leave you might then think about putting in some cams, springs, and retainers. With a new tune. But until you can launch the car more power would be a waste of money!
i run 5.5psi on my 24.5x9x13 slicks
try to shift right at the 60' mark, at least that works for me, but i have yet to pull a 1.6x 60'
lol
im trapping 136 though lol, completley different that yours
i dont know if youll get a 10 but you will drop your et considerably.
its all about seat time
