Default Vitara Setup goes 10.452 @ Island Dragway

Please excuse the shitty picture, my camera is MIA.

That makes 7 10 second passes this year. 10.9, 10.7, 10.6, 10.6, 10.6, 10.54, 10.452.

New best in everything BUT my trap speed. It was a nasty humid day, with rain on and off.

Setup is as follows.

-Full Z6, honed by me w ported and shimmed oil pump
-59300 with zex springs
-DIY 1st time ever head porting
-75mm loose as hell Vitaras slapping like crazy w/ tons of blow by
-Eagle rods, acl std size bearings
-Ported Z6 intake manifold, tb spacer and 65mm tb from Chris @ www.polarbeartuning.com
-2.25 and 2.5 inch Charge piping w/ small ebay intercooler
-4 inch up pipe
-Holset H1c 18.5cm exhaust housing @ 24ish psi
-Si trans w/ HF axles and newly installed OBX lsd
-ETD traction bars
-23x8x13 m&h on Lensos. About 1 million passes on them and constant get better 60's
-Walbro inline fuel pump
-Ebay Aluminum Half Rad with slim fan, no thermostat
-GC sleeves with a leaking left rear strut
-90 STD hatch with unfinished Jegs cage installed. Basically a 4pt at the moment
-Me driving

-All this Junk Ectuned by the ****ing man Xenocron.

If anyone has footage of any of my runs please pm me.

Nice times but I would say that car weighs closer to 1900 with a 150lbs driver.

when you are on a budget , you have to make it work for you somewhere :shrugs shoulders:

everyone seems to focus on the weight, But you gotta remember that it's wayyy underpowered than other "full weight" cars. I mean look at his trapp.

The car weighed 1724 last year at e town with no hood. Was 1900 exactly with me in it.

Since the its gotten a mild steel cage and a full size battery in place of the tiny motorcycle battery. Also gotten some various brackets. Little things.

I weigh 176 as of 5 seconds ago. Plus helment/clothes.

BTW Miller. Good work on Reems car, car is ****ing nuts.

i agree, I have considered gutting my car a few times, but i just cant bring my self to do it. my best time is only a 10.7 but i did it with a full interior, sirus satilite radio, gps navigation equipped real daily driver complete with baby seat in the back and only 50 or so more hp then him and at the worse track known to man for traction your gonna find that you dont get as much respect for a fast time when its done in a car thats barely even a car any more, thats why you are getting all these people talking about the weight. and he isnt underpowered at all he is making mid 400s thats allot of power in any kind of car, and since its a SOHC its got good torque as well.

Pootie, I am no way taking anything away from Joe. All I am stating is that the car does alot of what it does due to weight. Power to weight ratio on this this car is beautiful. That is how it goes, this car is all motor type light and that is sick.

Cant take anything away from you Joe, I thank you for being one of those guys that is out there racing no matter what. This sport needs alot more guys like you.

As far as Kareems car, yes he has a very cool and nice ride. I am happy to be apart of builds with people like Kareem that are so passionate about the sport. Once he has the right gearing that car will be be into the 9's without issue. Shifting 5th ftl

Hot.

So whats with the 138 mph trap ? Why isnt the car going any faster than it is ? More seat time needed ?

It took me 3 runs to get comfortable all over again. My 1st 2 passes were junk.

Thanks for the good words. I do my best with what I have and always make sure that its always fun for me. Take that away and its pointless.

Haha yea kareem definately motivates himself to get things done. Im almost jealous of it sometimes.

He says he already has things figured out from what he says and I cant wait to see him go in the 9's.

When you take the car to Etown, you'll see it run better times. Next weekend is only 4 more days away.

Practice makes perfect...keep after it.

nah i race at crappy track its a old air strip and its a 1% uphill grade , i have almost 20 years of seat time on average my home track is 3-5 tenths slower then a typical track. last year i had a SOHC crx that i went 12.2 with at my home track, i went to another track with it and went 11.6 at the same mph. i might get a chance this year to go to another track and see if i cant get a better time then a 10.7 if i ever get another daily driver i might lighten this one up a little, at least take the stereo system out of it and the 80ibs of dynomatt sound deadening i stuck in to make it a quieter ride.
